East Coast Kitsch
~ Eco-Chic designs and functional items for everyday living ~
East Coast Kitsch provides eco-friendly products for functional everyday living. All of the products by East Coast Kitsch are hand made with reclaimed materials- ranging from recycled wool sweaters and buttons to retired scrabble tiles or natural 100% wool (pure wool mittens) The goal of our company is to provide you with outstanding products that help to reduce our carbon footprint while creating a unique style. Along with recycling material to create our products, we also aim to reduce, re-use and recycle as much of our packaging as possible. Our packing materials are recycled (in as many cases as possible), the tags for our products are printed on recycled paper and we use a minimal amount of packaging (enough to keep your precious product safe while being shipped).
About the Designer
Designer Jane Murphy was born and raised in Bathurst, New Brunswick Canada, and after several years away the Bay of Chaleur called her back home. During her summers home from university she worked at Elm Tree Camp (a fantastic summer camp that is sadly now closed) and one summer she was the “craft lady” and ever since then, she has been creating. Jane works full time in community development however she enjoys crafting in her spare time and uses this as a way of unwinding after a long day at work. Jane’s material du jour is felted wool from reclaimed wool sweaters and blankets. The shapes of the felted sweaters are particularly inspiring to Jane as she works with the shape to create unique bags, coffee cup sleeves and cozies.
